Owner Built Homes is a family-owned business, in operation since 1998. The owners of Owner Built Homes have over 30 years experience in the field and have drawn on vast experiences to create a program that gives the homeowner control and savings.

If you want to choose between a few different floor plans and have little say on what materials and colors make your home, then this is not the program for you! If you want to have a home layout exactly as you would like it and move into your house with instant equity, then you are in the right place.

Owner Built Homes’ program can be adapted to nearly any situation for homeowners with nearly any type of experience in the home building industry. Owner Built Homes places you, the homeowner, in the position of general contractor.

This allows you to “call the shots” on your home construction site, when hiring contractors, and when selecting materials to be included in your home. It has been said that your home is the single greatest expression of you and your family, why would you want anyone else to be in control of its becoming?

If you have little or no experience in the field, Owner Built Homes can provide a project manager to manage part or all of the process of building your home. The project manager will schedule contractors, ensure quality of work, monitor progress and budget and more.

The referrals we make are always to contractors who have worked for us in the past or to contractors whose work we have seen and have been recommended by others. You may choose to use our referrals or use anyone you know or even perform some of the work yourself. We do urge that you think thoroughly about performing any work that you have not done before as many people experience that doing work causes extra time and headaches, sometimes affecting the construction schedule by weeks.

Working with all contractors directly gives you the right to hire and schedule anyone during the construction of your home and lets you interact with them one-on-one. This also allows you to pay each contractor directly, meaning you avoid paying a markup on each contractor.
